Block Work & Plaster

AAC blocks are a precast, foam concrete, sustainable construction material made from aggregates of quartz sand, calcined gypsum, lime, Portland cement, water and aluminium powder. After mixing and moulding, the concrete is autoclaved under heat and pressure and it thus gains its distinctive properties.

AAC Blocks can be used to construct both internal and external walls. It can be used for load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls. As per AAC-India, AAC blocks have an estimated life of almost 100 years. So for residential houses, which are designed for a span of 50 to 80 years, AAC blocks will last up to the designed life of the structure.

The blocks handle fire better than traditional blocks. These blocks are up to 3 times lighter in weight than traditional clay or cement blocks. Individual blocks are much larger in size than clay bricks. As a result, the structure completion happens faster.

Plasterwork is construction or ornamentation done with plaster, such as a layer of plaster on an interior or exterior wall structure, or plaster decorative moldings on ceilings or walls

Plaster is a thin layer of mortar applied over the masonry surface and it acts as a damp-proof coat over the brick masonry work. Plastering also provides a finished surface over the masonry that is firm and smooth hence it enhances the appearance of the building. The primary objectives of plastering are to protect the surface from atmospheric influences, to cover the defective workmanship in masonry, to conceal porous materials, and to provide a suitable surface for painting.
